For those involved in other organizations in the Great Victoria area and are looking for new ideas for their meeting presentations, why not book a VGS Ambassador to talk about genealogy at their event?

Our VGS Ambassador service is engaged in promoting genealogy and family history in our community, in person or via Zoom. Our most popular talks introduce people to the world of genealogy with basic tips to get the audience started on their own family trees.

For more information, or to book a speaker, please contact our VGS Ambassador Coordinator via our Contact Us form.

Thanks to the amazing support of our members, the 2022/2023 membership season is already setting records. We renewed 25% of last year’s members on the day the new website launched.

If you haven't renewed yet, please visit us at victoriags.org to signup or renew your membership.

Once a current or past member logs in to the website, renewing a membership is easy. They just need to click on the red “renew” link in the profile menu in the upper right-hand corner of the home page.

If you’ve never been a VGS member, you are invited to visit our website at victoriags.org and join the VGS by selecting the “Membership” menu and then choosing “New Member Signup.”

If you have any questions, please email Mark Thompson, VGS Membership Director via our Contact Us page.

Please consider helping VGS when you shop for groceries at Fairway Market stores. VGS is now enrolled in the Fairway Market Community Card program. It's easy for members and non-members alike to participate. Pick up your free card at the Victoria Genealogy Learning and Research Centre.

Fairway Market donates 5% of all amounts loaded onto cards to VGS on a quarterly basis. You can spend 100% of the funds you load onto your card at Fairway Market (you lose nothing).

Thank you for your support of VGS!
