USA - A restart of the USA SIG. Starting in the fall, the second Wednesday of the month at 1PM. we will approach the sessions as problem solving workshops. Contact - Gil Parker.

Western Canada - Formerly BC SIG - Began in the spring of 1999 as a result of a growing interest in research in BC. Has now been expanded to include Western Canada (BC to Manitoba). Meetings are the first Saturday of every month at 10:00am to 12:00 pm. Contact - Bill Morgan.

Celtic - Meets once a month in the afternoon on the third Tuesday of each month. Average attendance is eight keen researchers who are tracing their ancestry in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England. Celtic research is a challenge and this group has a leader with great expertise. Contact - Phyllis Lindsay.

Lancashire - Lanky surnames can be exotic: think Postlethwaite, Osbaldeston, Stirzaker or Phizacklea! The Industrial revolution, the cotton industry, migration and the slave trade all affected the county. Our Lancashire ancestors came from remote villages, bustling towns and the great cities of Manchester and Liverpool, all within this large and diverse area of northwestern England. The Lancashire SIG meets to learn, laugh and share together on the 2nd Tuesday afternoon monthly. Contact - Mary Nemes.

Ontario - More than half of Society members have family history connections with Ontario. This SIG meets at 1:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the afternoon. Contact - Gael Huntley.

SW England - Concentrates on the Southwest of England including Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, and adjacent counties. Members pursue specific objectives under the capable leadership of one of the Society's most experienced members with meetings at the VGS Library on the fourth (or fifth is there is one) Friday of each month. Projects sometimes involve specific research projects in other Victoria library facilities. Contact - Wendy Leyland.

London and the Home Counties - formerly London and SE Counties has absorbed Essex SIG. For people researching London and the Southeast of England. That would be roughly all of what is now Greater London and the counties surrounding it, as far west as Hampshire, including the Thames Valley. Please join us on the Third Wednesday of each month, from 1 pm until 3 pm, at the VGS Library. Contact - Roni Frey.

Our library is very spacious and all can be accommodated. It is essential to contact the facilitators (names and numbers in the Journal) for any changes in time and place due to field trips and special events. If you are a new member looking for a SIG to join please contact the SIG Director: who will put you in touch with the appropriate group leader. If your research interests are not covered by the existing groups let us know and we will do our best to include you in an existing group or create a new one.
